so, I just got a propane tank full from a friend(I know nice guy) I am having the gas company transfer it to my house tank. Now the scary part how do I safely cut up the tank, i have herd of filling with water,and filling it with exhaust from a car. also how should I build this design ideas, smoke box etc... Darn I might have to change my user name.lol

30GAL.OF.SMOKE, ask the same gas company to purge the tank and certify it for cutting. If they will not then filling with water and a degreaser several times will get rid of the nastys. I would of course keep it full of water for my first cut to be on the safe side. I always say if your not confident in your ability to cut it safely then have it done. In my opinion there is no room for the cowboy take on this, lives are in the picture. As for what to build, a nice tuning plate cooker comes to mind or a R/F design may be in order. What are the actual dimensions of the tank?
