| I am finishing up my uds today and I am going to pick up a couple turkey fryer therms from wal mart on the way home, however I am stuck at work for now lol. I would like to drill though a couple bolts in the lathe while i am here, wondering what size hole would be a close fit for the probe? Thanks! |

hondo383, 1/8'' is a slip fit. I recommend going one step larger because when the carbon builds on the stem it is difficult to remove. I hope this helps. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

I was just in the shop taking some pics of some wheel adapters and measured several therms. It seems they vary in diam. a bit. I would step to 5/32 or 11/64 to be on the safe side. Mine is a 1/8'' stem however Debbie's are a bit larger. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

How do you get it out to remove the racks and charcoal basket? _________________ “Franken Smoker”

How do you get it out to remove the racks and charcoal basket? | Sorry I wrote without thinking, Make sure drill hole is clean, Apply atv silicone, lightly wipe probe with light oil, install, & let silicone dry. You will get a nice fit that doesn't leak |

| Isn't there some type of brass pipe fitting, etc. that can be used? |

Yes there is you can use a brass 1/8'' union. I first used the bolt idea because I needed a holder and it was the first victim in my shop. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.
