Thank you. I haven't created a website since 1998. Had my others done by someone else. Must say I was pulling my hair earlier...

Hi Travis:

I'm new to the forum and about to work on my first smoker. Didn't know the plan I had for mine was the design of the DPP. Was wondering if I could call you for some advice. Glad you overcame!

Not real familiar with DPP so I was wondering if anyone knew of any videos available that would show a tour of the DPP smokers? The pictures I have seen do not show me enough about how it works. I might want to upgrade my Lang 60 Deluxe with a cooker that has more capacity.

Travis,I have a DP40 I bought from you about 6 years ago and wondered if you know of anyone who has put a Guru or Stoker unit on one of these and how it would be configured to work best.

Where would be the best place to attach the fans on the firebox ? Do you then use a charcoal basket ? Do you know how many hours unattended you would get with it.

The kit GURU sells includes adapters that attach to the doors. I would keep them centered and toward the bottom of the door as to blow air below the charcoal basket. When we build a new unit with the GURU option, we install pipes in the front of the firebox, below the front basket. This is just to protect the blowers, but either location will work. Personally, I have never used the GURU system, but I have heard of 4-5 hr cook times with a nice bed of Lump Charcoal and 3-4 pieces of wood. If you decide to install one, I would like to see some pics and here your results. Let me know if I can help in any other way.

Good to see you back. I have been absent from here for a couple years and last I saw was you were closing up shop. This was right after I was completing my DP clone. I still use it a lot but would love to have one of yours someday!!!
