I'm going to enter a local kcbs competition, I'm a first - timer, and I was hoping some of you pros could tell me what type of chicken tends to fair best with the judges. Thighs?

Thanks!

Yep....as many as you can get in the box(at least 6). And sauced works better in most parts of the country than not sauced(that goes for the chicken too). Wink

Thighs and legs seem to be what most teams are turning in. And as Mike said sauced. Unfortunetly most judges like the chicken to be almost candied. Meaning a coating of sweet sweet sauce.

Take a look around the sight for the many pictures of comp turn in boxes to get a good idea of what is being turned in.

Good Luck!

I'm liking 6 thighs and a big breast cut in 6 resting on top.

Best of both worlds.
