|
|
| I use a gas assist homemade smoker to smoke fish.I have used it close to 10 years with a single cast iron burner{low pressure fish cooker}.Just recently I have up graded to 2 18"long cast iron burners{gas grill replacements}and welded them in a "H"pattern, each has its own venturi and supply, valved. When the smoker door is closed I lose 1/2 of the flame, not one side but 1/2 lengthwise. It seems obvious its air related but with the shutter fully open still lose 1/2 of the flame. The lost flame is towards the venturi/supply end.The flame is lost on both burners.Hopefully this makes sense in the way of a question.Thanks. |

| You do not have enough "secondary airflow"...IE you are in-putting more than you have draft. |

| Not exactly sure what secondary draft is?Do I need a larger air supply for the cooker itself? Thanks for the input. |

X 2 with CB and HVAC...Also - How was the orifice size and
venturi configuration arrived at?
A few pictures might help us to help you solve your problem.

| A picture is worth a thousand words, thanks. It does appear as though it needs more air, with the door open its just right. The diagram is exactly what I have x2.I think the orifice is as large as I can go for the proper mix,do not remember what it was drilled out to.Thanks again guys. |
