We smoked four turkeys and a chicken for thanksgiving this year. It was a first attempt at turkey. The rub looked a bit dark when done but the turkey was delicious. Thanks for all the tips on this forum.

| I would forget the rub next time and just brine it. Cover the birds with cheesecloth soaked in melted butter and keep it basted and you'll end up with a golden brown skin. |
