Looks great, but man, they charge a lot for a brisket where you live!

Uncle John - Thanks! It did make some good sammiches. My son took some to school for lunch. Very Happy I like mixing a little black walnut in once in a while. I don't have much to compare it to, but this is a quote from the Rings wood list:

Quote:
WALNUT - ENGLISH and BLACK - Very heavy smoke flavor, usually mixed with lighter woods like almond, pear or apple. Can be bitter if used alone. Good with red meats and game.

MizzouFan - Thanks!

zski - Thanks! Oh yeah!

Rayzer - Try it, it's good stuff! Smile

Bunqui - Thank you! Smile You better go swipe some from him. Smile

k.a.m. - Thanks Kevin! I really liked the flavor of this one.

SVonhof - Thanks! I am getting ready to buy another half of a beef from my landlord & good friend. Less than $2 a pound cut & wrapped so I'll make up for it. I watch them graze in the pasture all summer.

What happens if you start feeding them pumpkins a month before butchering? Wink My wife was telling me that as she was driving home one day, she saw a bunch of cows eating pumpkins...

Very nice finish, nice looking bark and smoke ring. I haven't tried the brisket sammies yet because my last brisket disappeared in something like 7 minutes. I plan on cooking one here soon at home so I will have some left over this time. Laughing

My landlord puts them on grain for a few months before butchering.

And I like to put Big Ron's HoH on their grass & Lawry's marinade in their water! Laughing
