Too bad about the scrap yards. Crying or Very sad I have 2 locally. One sells teir steel at about $.05 lb more than making a 120 mile trip to SA, Tx. Good deal but they don't cull their good scrap. The other marks new steel up about 150-160% but culls there good scrap and locates it up front in customer area. While running at around new steel prices ( roughly $.50 lb), it sure beat buying full plate when you just neew a portion and also some cool stuff at times ( see bell housing on my kamado post). Works good on both. A fwiw, I think I missed your paint scheme addition, cool stuff!

dan good to see you posting. If your asking me that ? it means you are building one . I used 1/4" for my rf. If your building one post progress in the cooker section...it helps future builds with ideas.

Not sure I would call it a canopy...more like a pup tent.
May take a look at it tho running out of room under the pavilion Rolling Eyes

What is your thought on skinning it with FRP ?

I have never given it much thought but it sounds doable. Smile My only concern would be if it could take highway speeds without coming unhitched. I have no idea of what type of draft situation our trailer has while going 65 mph I would hate to get to a location and wonder where my roof skin was. Shocked
But if you do not plan long hauls the product is definitely a source to look at.
