Well finaly got the 20 x60 tank cut and most of the goods rounded up. Very Happy

Hope to keep a good log and pics posted. If i can figure out an easy way to use photobucket Confused

Will try my best. Thanks to all the guys that post on here it should go pretty smoooooooth.

well got the pics figured out for now....till I foget how i did it..

this is for k.a.m.



round to round chamber to fire box layout....needed 35.75 inches so i layed out to circles and gridded it seem 5 inch overlap will work...what do you think?

it was an aircompressor tank from a prison i was rebuilding......from 1958 i think.....was like brand new inside

thanks....going to upload one more pic..it is the top view of the grate that did not come the first time. was wondering if it is worth my time to tig it solid because it was made for a turning conveyor.thought maybe the guys on here have pros or con on it's use

Maniac, I would not tig them solid. I like the roll up design. I was at a comp. with the Smokin'Ace's a while back and one of the teams had grates like that. They could roll them up an stow them if need be it was cool.

well in that case i'll have to rethink a slide out subframe with maybe 1 or 2 diffrent rack styles

Very nice build you have going on there Maniac. I like the old tank with the rivets on it, gives it alot of character. Looking forward to following your build and watching your cooker come to life.

Maniac, your making some nice progress on your build. Very Happy I have seen chain links used before for hinges with good results. There tolerances are just tight enough and the look makes for a nice conversation. Very Happy

Thanks K.A.M. Just have to do a mockup on some plate to get the door to lift and not bind. not sure yet if i put thm teepee style if the seal flaps will bind....time will tell Smile
