Don't knock the Kingsford, I once seared a steak at 700° in the cooking chamber with a single kingsford briquette in the old SFB. It was the competition briquette. That was before I got my green therapen which never let's the heat get that out of control...
And as for lying, I have no reason to lie with all the true stories I have from my cooks... Besides boiling rice in a paper bog over an open fire I once cooked a complete giraffe on my Coleman camp stove using indirect heat...
Who needs to lie with accomplishments like that??? |

Man those things are efficient  I was happy when my WSM went 12 hours on 5 K-Comp briquettes.
