I need a new heat assist burner for my vertical smoker.I ordered this burner{fire magic}and need some input/advise please.I thought the venturi was threaded to accept my fuel supply but its not.Can I thread it to pipe threads and connect the supply?I currently use a low pressure cast iron burner for assist,I would like to plumb 2 of these new burners to even out the heat as well as increase the temps.Thanks. |

I have seen them made both ways. How is your orifice set up? Who ever made it should be able to tell you the orifice size (mine is 56).
My orifice was threaded. I used a tap and installed it that way.
You can't just hook up the gas and let her rip......

It should be mounted outside. That way it will get fresh air.
I went to my local propane shop. They were able to help me with my design and parts. |

| 10-4,our local gas company is not a good source for info.Between this forum and a few sites I will get it figured out.I have used this cooker for close to 10 years, just need to tweek it alittle.Might just end up having pipeburnersinc.com to build me one to be safe. |

Heya guys! Didn't want to post new topic for this simple question...
I am in process of making my pipe burner with parts salvaged from a wall mount propane heater (safety valve, pilot, orifice, etc.)
I was planning on drilling then tapping the hole to accept the orifice but saw that the threads from the heater orifice will also accept mig tips that would possibly work better in the burner... make sense?
Question is: If I drilled a hole in the end cap and threaded the propane feed pipe thru it and sealed with JB Weld, will it hold up? There is 14" from end cap to first flame slit...JB Weld claims to be good to 500 F.
Thanks
