Anybody ever convert an old newspaper machine to a vertical smoker?

interesting idea, you would need to change the glass to a pyrex type of glass if you still wanted to see in. I doubt the existing glass is good for temperatures you will be seeing.

Put a timer on it with a coin chute. Then put it out in your front yard. 25 cents for each 5 minutes of grill time. (Kinda like the car wash)
If they run out of quarters, then you got FREE supper. Shocked

They do make them watertight and it would be easy to reach all the shelves with the front opening like that. What kind of metal it is? I haven't bought a paper in ages but if I remember their kind of thin...

Soapm, Debbie delivered papers for a while and the ones she had at stores were pretty heavy, I know I had to move them when one broke. Laughing

Not sure of the gauge steel used but it seems plenty thick.Might get lucky and be able to use some storebought grates.I like the idea of it being unique. If I follow thru with it will put up a picture or 2.

Hmmm, there is one outside my building right now. Maybe I can make lunch. Not on Wednesdays though as that is when they fill it with the Village Voice...... Wink
