put a 7.5 pound butt on around 4am (in the rain, thanks earl). went back inside and fell asleep leaving 2.5 intakes open. woke up almost 3 hours later to the smoker at almost 375 and the butt at 170.
think i got it slowing down now. hopefully i can salvage this. _________________ UDS

I've had a lot of good oven roasted butt that was cooked at 350 and then sliced when at 190. _________________ In the shadows of Lambeau |

yeah it actually came out pretty good. doesn't have a huge smoke ring but it's moist and pulled easily. _________________ UDS

Sounds like a save to me! Butts are about the most forgiving thing we can cook.
Pics?
