Now is the time I am thinking about the show, The colony.

This last week they snagged a gater and then the storm hit here, so we didn't get to watch it yet. We will be watching the rerun when it comes on...

Now has anyone done one of these critters yet and what was your take of the grub.

What would you do different..

Did it taste like chicken..

Did you mop it, or dry rub it..

Would you ever try a gater if you had the chance.

gator is good. I just pan fried it and it is like chicken with a hint of fish if that makes sense.

Want your gator tender and not chewy?

It takes some time but it will be perfect. Thaw out your gator and soak it for 3 days in buttermilk. After the three days take it out, rinse it and batter it in some beer batter.

Fry it up until its golden brown. Comes out amazing.

Dipping sauce? Try this:

1 part mayo
1 part horseradish
1 part ketchup

Add some rub to spice it up to your taste
