| Where in the Shrewsbury/Worcester area are you guys buying your good quality meats? There is a small place in Northboro (Lowes I think) that I scored a nice Butt from, but want to see what else is out there. |

That's the place I go for hard-to-find cuts (like dino bones!) and it's a good 35-40 minute drive each way, so it must be worth the drive

I buy my meat at my local supermarket, Price Chopper in Marlborough. They were voted number one butcher in the are in an annual newspaper survey.
I've been very pleased with their Certified Angus beef. The butchers are vey helpful.
I look at the Certified Angus beef at other supermarkets, and Price Choppers looks better to me ... more marbeling.
Price Chopper even had tri-tip, which I don't see too often in the supermarkets by me.
The only poor-quality item I ever got there was pork belly. I did ask them to get in pork bell for smoking bacon. The pork belly they got in wasn't meaty at all.
I stopped in at Fairway Beef one time, based on recommendations on ere. Neat place, but a bit of a drive for me. I'm in Marlborough, right by the Sudbury line, and the meat at Fairway didn't look better than Price Chopper.
I did buy salt pork for baked beans at Fairway. Price Chopper has it, too, but I had to buy something. _________________ Pitt's & Spitt's U2436 |

I find BJs has the best prices on BBs (usually around $3.50/lb).. _________________ WSMx2, Genesis Silver B, & BabyQ |

Hey Jimmy,
I am over in Boylston and my "go to guy" is Mike O'Driscol in Northboro. Odriscolls is down the road from Lowes in the next plaza next to the dry cleaners.
I like Lowes too. Tommy has gotten me some great briskets (and thier porketta is fantastic).
Fairway beef in Worcester also has a good reputation. _________________ Andy

I was in Rhode Island for a few years. Restaurant Depot was a good source. You might get on the NEBS site and ask some of the guys on there. There are a lot of good comp teams up there who might point you in the right direction. _________________ D. Tillery
