Smoked chicken quarters, grilled cabbage, baked beans.
Decided to try the mustard smeared on the meat style.

I topped it with my rub. I use the same rub for all meat.

Chicken quarters getting all happy with the mustard and rub, waiting on the charcoal to get ready.

Here's the cabbage. I quartered it and removed the heart. Slathered on some oleo and hit it with the rub.

Here's the chicken on the grill cooking away.

I'll add more pics later.

Here's the baked beans I used. I dumped both of them in a camping pan, dumped in some rub and the bbq sauce.

Here's a grill full of food!

More to come!

Chicken ready to come off the grill and rest a while.

Chicken cut up and ready to serve after a 10 minute rest.

Plate full of goodness right there.

The chicken was a hit. There was no hint of any mustard taste at all. With the water pan in the fire box the chicken was nice and tender. I used my peach wood for the smoke.

Ridgerunner, How did the cabbage come out? It looks pretty good to me, as well as the chix and beans, but I've never done cabbage that way.

I should have put the cabbage over the coals to crisp it up. It came out al dente'. I usually cook it on a grill like that. Higher heat is definitely better with the cabbage. Usually I use salt and pepper, but this time I used the rub. I think salt and pepper would have been better.

Never thought of stuffed cabbage. That looks great! I think it would be a meal unto itself.
