I saw a banner on top of "The Smoke Ring" that read..."Sarah Palin endorses Karen Handle {or Georgia Governor}"and asking for money to support the campaign. Now I understand having to sell ads to keep the website and forum free to all, but POLITICAL ADS?...don't we have some sort of standards as to what is advertised on the Ring and what isn't? Can we discuss this here and come to some sort of understanding? I love the Smoke Ring, but if we are not going to remain apolitical, at least notify us of that fact. Thanks

It must have been a Google ad. I don't have a lot of control over which ads Google displays. I can block ads but I need to know the site the ad linked to. I've never seen that one come up.

Thanks, Ya'll. I did not want to make a big deal of it, but I hold my beliefs about the influence of money on politics/government very dear, and am happy to be involved in a forum where all that stuff is absent. I love the Ring and look forward to more great discussions and info in the future.

ah the beauty of google chrome and the ad block extension. zero ads anywhere on the page.
