So I was killing time the other day at Home Depot, and darn if they didn't just get in 3 Bubba Kegs. $299, well after walking every ailse and thinking about my collection, one had to go home with me.
I had a pizza raunt a little while back that ran a coal fired oven around 800° with pizza cooking in 90 seconds. I don't miss the headache that the place was, but I miss the pizza. So I had to do pizza first since the temperature range was there. Well there are no pics so thankfully it didn't happen. Temp didn't get high enough, crust was whole wheat cause that's the flour I had, and blah blah blah, not great.
A few days later I grilled some flank steak, and I wish that had happened, cause it was good.
The other night I tried the low and slow to do some ribs. Trimmed spares, mustard slather, Rub Co Competition Blend, Mesquite charcoal and pecan chunks. 250° ish for about 4 hours.
First time doing the Low and Slow with the Bubba I had some temp spikes, I know now that I need a difusser, and have seen some mods to the intake that I will probably do.
Came out alright, a little dry, but good flavor and tenderness. Serverd with collard greens and pan fried potatoes.

Thanks Cody
So far it is interesting since I am a stick burner by nature, but I know I will put her to good use. _________________ 22.5 Weber Kettle

Congrats on your new cooker. The ribs look fantastic, I think your getting the hang of it. Welcome to the beautiful world of uprights. So when can I expect to see your UDS build? _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

The UDS is on hold till I get a new barrel. The sawzall got away from me when cutting the top off the one I had. _________________ 22.5 Weber Kettle

| congrats on the toy! I've been looking at those (as well as the BGE, Primo, and Grill Dome) for a while now and itching to pull the trigger. Can't find anything reasonably priced up in NH/MA area. I already have a UDS, modded charbroil silver, weber performer and a ginormous propane grill - but was thinking the kamado could replace the UDS and performer in a 1 for 2 switch thus freeing up some deck space (and keeping the boss happy). |

The only difference I know of is they are steel with insulation instead of ceramic. HookEm just traded a egg with table for a keg and guru and seems real pleased with the swap.
Since it is steel it is more travel friendly than the ceramic ones.
Good luck if you go to get one. My store had 1 3 months ago, they got 3 in last week, and they were gone in a few days. Was at a different HD today and they didn't have any either.
compound13- you see the list in my signature right. I'm not giving any of them up, and still itching for more. My boss doesn't spend much time in the backyard so I can pretty much get away with anything. (at least I will keep telling myself that)

| A heavily insulated cooker is a world apart from the uninsulated ones. Nice work on those ribs. |
