As the title says, I was very skeptical. I couldn't believe that it would taste good. And then I tried it.
Have you ever had one of those moments when you put something in your mouth and you start to see stars and hear music? Well that's exactly what happened the moment that I tried a pulled pork sandwhich on buttered and toasted bun with a slice of melted american cheese and a runny (key thing--it has to be runny) fried egg.
I had some leftover pork from a cook the day before. A friend of mine always talked about this little BBQ place that is close by that serves pulled pork biscuits and how great it was. Honestly--he wouldn't shut up about it. Since he doesn't cook Q, I thought that he probably thought that the pulled pork sandwhich you get at Dairy Queen was a good thing. What did I know?
I was on vacation and I had the proper ingredients, sans biscuits, so I thought I would give it a go.
And as they say, "the rest is history."
I'm thinking about having it for supper tonight. If I do, I'll post a picture.
Don't try it if you don't want to be hooked. I'm warning you now. _________________ Jesse Gabbard

Gosh, you're not kidding. I had my first hamburger with fried egg early this spring and what an eye opening experience! _________________ Jesse Gabbard

A runny egg, cheese and butter on a toasted bun...hmmmm....that would make anything taste better, but pulled pork...genius!!!
I'm gonna raise you one and throw a couple of strips of bacon on top. Oh yeah! _________________ Mister Bob, Pitmaster

My Doctor disagrees with me but that is my type of food. I was at an Argentinian restaurant and tried their Gaucho Burger??? I ma hooked.
Beef patty, cheese, ham, and fried egg. That was heaven I made one at home the next weekend. _________________ May the smoke always caress your meat in a manner that brings a smile to your face. |

Here's your pic:
Very delicious by the way. Made the egg over easy, as that's how I eat them. _________________ UDS

I'm wanting to try this, and am curious about the pork...is it best "as is" from the cooker, or is sauce added to it after pulled? _________________ Since Christ DIED for us, we should LIVE for Him!

I didn't add any sauce at all. The egg yolk and the melted cheese added enough taste and moisture without any sauce. I should also note that this was my breakfast the morning after my cook and thus the pork was reheated. _________________ UDS
