I gave this a shot today and it was amazing. Thanks for posting. I loved the sauce. I first had gyros in college at Rutgers at the grease trucks and have yet to have a gyro that tasted as good. This was every bit as good.

I brought it to my BIL's house so I had to cook it on a gas grill. It was still really good but not much of that great charcoal flavor. I'm going to try it on my Weber Kettle next time (am also considering the Weber roto for the kettle).

I grow herbs in the summer so I used fresh rosemary and added thyme and basil. I marinaded it overnight. The mustard in the marinade was really nice and allowed it to cling to the meat during cooking.

Sorry, no pics. Wives left for a girls' lunch and the 3 hubbies had 7 kids in a pool. All young kids so we kept an eye on them.

Plus it was done on a gas grill...good char but no nice smoke ring or anything worth a pic. It was all about the taste on this one.
