As has been mentioned before, Speed Queen has excellent BBQ if you can brave the neighborhood. Otherwise my suggestion would be Jerry's Old Town in Germantown.

As for other attractions, when I was living in Milwaukee I always liked to take out of towners to the Safehouse. It's a neat speak easy throwback downtown. Lots of fun. They also have one of my favorite places to shop, Bayshore. It used to be a failing mall that they revamped to be an outdoor mall. It's really neat.

Between these things and what you have listed you should have plenty to keep you busy for two days. Good call on Lakefront, best brewery tour in the best brewery town in the country. Lakefront White was one of my favorites back when I was a booze hound. Wolski's is also a good way to spend an evening.

KK, if you haven't taken the Miller Brewery tour that's always worth the trip. Also speed queen bbq is good and no problems during the day. If you need any other info just let me know, I live 15 miles west of milwaukee.

The more I've thought about it the more I'd say that Safehouse is a must. Are you going to have a local with you? If not it can be next to impossible to find.

Also, Irish Fest will be going on that weekend down on the lakefront. The ethnic festivals are smaller, but usually have really good authentic foods and some neat historical things to check out.

Catch the Brewers, then go to Irish Fest. When they close down head to the Safehouse for a couple drinks on your way to Wolski's. It's almost the perfect day. Very Happy

Rupert, I lived just up the road from you in Okauchee for a couple years after we had kids and fled MPS. Ever go up to Ron's for fish fry? If not, you should.

Giggles, Ron's used to be a regular stop. Haven't been there since they moved, and yes it was good. If you are ever in the area try the 5 o'clock club in pewaukee.

You got to hit Leon's and Trudy's drive-in's too, then you can see where the TV shows "Happy Days" and Laverne & shirley was based on!

There is so much to do in Milwaukee, at anytime of the year you will always have fun!

Speed Queen is a must!! Get the "Outside Shoulder Dinner" with a Mix sauce, extra slaw and extra hot sauce. Keep the slaw for last to cool down your mouth.
I modeled my slaw after the queens. it is good!!
