Hola ladies and gents...

Yep, been a while since I was in here, but life and my other hobby seem to have taken over!

Our boys have been in town for the last month and a half, and I've really been hanging with them more than anything else.

But, this past weekend we had a cook for a family member that is carrying her first child... It was a ball!

Now granted it was a small cook, only 30 people, but me and the boys had a BLAST!

#1 son is going to be a GREAT pit master and #2 son is going to be a great BBQ joint manager!

We made 2 briskets, 6 racks of ribs, 5 pounds of smoked sausage, 4 chickens, 22 ears of corn, a BUTTLOAD of fried okra, and fried pickles. The fried pickles were a last minute request from the new mama.

This is a shot of us at the cooking station. We only took one easy up since we were told another 3 would be on site.... As you can see, they weren't there! It was HOT! we were making the fried pickles here.

Now, if there EVER was a question as to whether or not #1 son was mine, this pic tells it all! He is telling a STORY to some of the girls that are visiting the pit area. His story ROCKED, even though it was about me, and the girls were flirty... I put him back to work after though! LOL

This is a shot of the fried pickles... This is a first for me! Didn't even try them at home first! Shocked We got lucky!

#2 son planning everything out! This boy (11 years old) made it until 5:30 AM the next morning during the cook!

Here is a shot of the brisket and ribs... Not a great pic, but then again I was depending on family to give me pics of the event.

Here's a pic of something I didn't realize had happened! The HELPER is sampling the goods that have dropped off the side of the cutting board!

Good pic of me and #1 son at the pit before things got crazy... Cool aprons, huh?

The mama to be is in blue. She is a sweet girl and I'll cook for her anytime. She truly appreciates the effort and end results of low and slow BBQ!

Most of the spread we put on...

Me after it was all over!

Hope to be regular again soon! I miss this place!

Charlie
