Keep us posted on performance and pricing! It's great to see RO rediscovering their 'roots'.
I've ordered 2 bags of this to try. Cost is $0.56 / lb.

| Be sure to let us know how that Grillmark stuff turns out. That looks like a good price, and free shipping to store! |

I saw the RO Ultra 100 briquets on the shelf of a local family-owned grocery store (Matherne's).
Shelf price is $8.49 for the 11 lb. bag (5 kg bag).
Sale price was $7.19 for the 11 lb. bag.
I might 'take one for the team' and shell out $7.19 to do a 100% hardwood briquet comparison between my remaining vintage 2006 OCC Rancher from Paraguay, Stubb's made from Cowboy lump, Grillmark 100% natural, and RO Ultra 100.
But, I'm betting the contents of the RO Ultra 100 briquets are identical to the Grillmark all natural briquets. Wish RO had some statement on this somewhere on the web instead of leaving us guessing.
Gotta cook somethin' for 4th of July. I'm thinking a minion method brisket flat with briquets in my bullet rig and lump and stickburning in my horizontal offset with some pork loin back ribs. We'll see what this week ends up like. _________________ Let's hope SoEzzy can ditch his heavy hand on photos in 2016!

I gavethe bag of RO Ultra 100 to a work colleague to try vs. Stubb's. My next bullet soker cook I'll try the Grillmark 100% natural briquets for comparison vs. vintage 2006 OCC Rancher briquets and Stubb's briquets.
The RO Ultra 100 briquets are in the same $/lb neighborhood as K-Comp here while the Grillmark 100% natyral briquets are in the same lower $/lb. neighborhood as Stubb's briquets here. _________________ Let's hope SoEzzy can ditch his heavy hand on photos in 2016!

I opened a bag of the Grillmark 100% Natural Charcoal yesterday to cook a brisket, and found it's lump, not briquettes as advertised on the Ace Hardware web site.
So, I have plenty of lump on hand. I'll buy a bag of RO Ultra 100 for myself to try out as the only real competitor vs. Stubb's briquets for 100% natural hardwood briquets in my area. I'll come back and post a review of that stuff.
I used Stubb's briquets for my overnight brisket cook and I think they're OK, but I still like the 2006 vintage OCC Rancher better. _________________ Let's hope SoEzzy can ditch his heavy hand on photos in 2016!
