Posting Photos on how to post photos
Here are the basic steps in posting your photos in the threads using www.photobucket.com for photo hosting.
Step 1: Sign Up at www.photobucket.com for a FREE account. They will store your photo's online so the forum doesn't have to store them.
Step 2: Upload you photos from your computer. getting them ON your computer isnt covered here.
This is what it looks like after you sign in to the photobucket site:
And where you upload the photos from your computer.

If you want to upload several different photos at one time,
all you have to do is select more than one at a time by holding down the CTRL key on your keyboard and clicking on multiple pics in the browse window below
**********
Step 3: Click on the "Browse" button and find the photo you want to upload on your computer. This shows I have chosen the photo named "upload.jpg" from the Pictures folder.

*********NEW INFO*********
After uploading some files you will be presented the files as below,
If you then click on one of the images you will get a slightly larger version with editing options available if you put your mouse pointer ON the image , you will see the bar at the top of the image that has File, Edit, Resize, Rotate....and a few others as shown below.

****IMPORTANT INFO****
This is how the new screen will look like, all you will have in your ALBUM view are thumbnail pics of all your images, you will only see the way to copy the actual URL to the photo to post it here is to put your mouse over the photo as shown
Copy the Link to the photos under the thumbnail of the photo you want. To Copy the text in the box, all you now have to do is click in tghe boc you want and it will automagically be copied to your computers clipboard.
To copy just the link to the photo, Click in the box named "URL"
You Will get this:
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l313/wnkt/upload4.jpg
If you want the photo to show up in the posting , just like all the above photo's, Click on the "IMG code" and copy the text there.
**********
Paste the text you copied above into the posting area in the forum: To paste, right click the mouse where you want it to go and choose "Paste". This is how the text looks when pasteing it in.

This is how its done, No trouble at all!

I hope this helps everyone. I saw several postings asking how to post the photos, before the recent forum crash, and thought I'd make up a visual step by step tutorial.
If any additions need to be made let me know. _________________ Electricity can be dangerous. My nephew tried to stick a penny into a plug. Whoever said a penny doesn't go far didn't see him shoot across that floor. I told him he was grounded. - Tim Allen |

Thanks.
I did it the first time about a week or so before the forum fell down and went BOOM!
I had to re-do it. But this time I saved it just in case anything happens again. _________________ Electricity can be dangerous. My nephew tried to stick a penny into a plug. Whoever said a penny doesn't go far didn't see him shoot across that floor. I told him he was grounded. - Tim Allen |

I was looking at my Photobucket album and saw that they changed the Upload box.......so I took another couple of screen shots and made the changes above. Everything else is the same. _________________ Electricity can be dangerous. My nephew tried to stick a penny into a plug. Whoever said a penny doesn't go far didn't see him shoot across that floor. I tried everything I know to get that picture to upload from your site but couldn't figure it out. I can get to it but still can't get it to upload to this site.
I then copied and moved it to my Photobucket account and will try it again and it should work.
It did work so maybe your site does not allow direct linking. _________________ Old Dave

The problem is that the URL you are using does not end in an image file extention.
Specifically the "?imgmax=640" part is the problem.
This forum software only allows image files to use the image tag.
If you remove the '?imgmax=640' part, it should work (but the pic is big and should be resized really):

Hmmmm...well, what I said is true, but it also looks like they don't allow hotlinking. The pic showed up when I posted it originally, but now it isn't coming up...which is typical with a hotlinking problem. _________________ -Huminie |
