Finally got the front rack built on the smoker last week. Cooked some great chicken and the best ribs I've ever done over the weekend. Competition maybe????????? Sorry didn't get pics of the cook but will soon. Here's the pics.

That is one good looking smoker. I would love to see more of the inside details, like how the pipes from the firebox look inside the cooker. Is there a baffle plate above the pipes? Do the stacks go down to the gate level? Do you mind sharing?

I followed his design pretty closely when I built mine (in my sig).

These are the answers to your questions based on my build.

The pipes into the cooker from the firebox were cut with a "snout" on the bottom and a cap on the end. That way the heat goes down and towards the sides instead of directly above the end of the pipe causing hot spots.

No baffle plate needed with the snout tubes.

Stacks do not go to the grate, they are flush with the top of the tank.

Maybe I'm not seeing this right. Can the ashes fall directly on or through the firebox vents? Is cleaning difficult?

Again, mine is a bit different than this, my vents are on the ends of my firebox. I use a charcoal\wood tray and all the ash collects in the bottom of my firebox. I then scoop it or vacuum it out when it's cool.

Well it's been a long time since I've been on this forum. Life and everything that goes with it tends to move you in different directions. Has been nice going back and reading a lot of the post and seeing some names I hadn't seen in awhile. I'll be hanging around again watching builds and still sharing projects of my own. Just wanted to drop a note and say I'm back!!
