Hi , my name is Scot and I am new to BBQing and Smoking. I have been grilling for 10 years with charcoal on my Home Depot barrel style BBQ. But now I recently purchased a "The Good One" Open Range smoker . So I am trying to learn what meats are good for smoking and what methods to use. I have been scavenging the internet for information and The SMoke RIng FOrum seems to be one of the better forums (or should I say best). I am super jealous of you guys who live in area's of the country where BBQ and Smoking is common. In my neck of the woods there are very few restaurants that focus on BBQ. They are around but few and far between. Also I had to travel a ways to find a BBQ/Smoker dealer other than Home Depot or Sears. See you on the Forums |

| Welcome to the ring. Understand the frustration, the only bbq joints around here are goodwood and Texas roadhouse, so I make due and do it myself. Lots of good info here, read the stickys to get a good start then post up some questions. |
