I recently bought an electric Masterbuilt smoker. I seasoned it for 6 hours and then threw on a brisket. Tasted awful. Not sure what the problem was. I just chalked it up to needing more seasoning. Yesterday I cooked up some chicken legs and the same thing happened. Had to throw out the entire batch of legs. Tasted like they were soaked in lighter fluid. Any suggestions?

Electricity just can't do what good ole fashion fire does.

^ That doesn't really help the OP.

If it has an off taste in the food, it must be coming from somewhere. I'd suggest doing another burn on it. Put veggie oil all over and burn the crap out of it. See if you can put charcoal or wood in there and just burn it to heck. Maybe the electric burner isn't getting hot enough to do a proper initial burn to get rid of all the chemicals

I think we really need to know more.....

What wood did you use? Soaked or dry? Chips? Water pan used? What was the temp cooked at? Did you keep adding wood chips through the cook or just in the beginning?

With an electric smoker I would start with a water pan, soaked chips initially and then just cook at temp until finished. If not, you can end up with too much smoke and a bitter taste.

I have 2 masterbuilts and have never had a problem, I never soak the chips, I preheat to about 275 then when I put the meat in and get the thing ready to smoke I turn it down to 225

I cooked Ribs this weekend. 7 slabs. 4 in the Masterbuilt with Honey BBQ and 3 slabs on my Brinkman Smoke N Pit. Everyone swore the Honey BBQ ribs were more tender. Its funny cause they had no idea what I cooked the ribs on. I think you just need to play with it more. Cause it is kinda fool proof.
