It appears we will be avoiding the Gulf this summer and heading north to entertain some Yankees in Eagles Mere, PA. We'll be leaving Fort Payne, AL and head up I-59 to I-75 to Knoxville, TN. Take I-40 from there to I-81 and ride the back of VA for 6 hours. I suspect we'll be ready for some decent food a little before Blacksburg, VA and maybe after Harrisburg, PA.

Don't send me to some nasty food.

Thanks.

We are in the county just west of Blacksburg, and you can check our web site or call us at 540-922-2258 for the town we are in the day you are around. It may be about 20 miles out of the way, but well worth it.

Right now the plan is to drive up on Saturday, July 2 and drive back at least past the Blacksburg area on the following Saturday. We will make the drive up in one day, sorry, I am not driving out of the way of probably an hour round trip. We are looking at 13 hours on the road. I'd like something close to the interstate.

I'll check your site.

Morristown, TN I-81 Exit 8 Turn right (north) on Hwy 25E. for about 5-6 miles. Turn left at the third red light, then another left. That road is Buffalo Trail. Go about 1 more mile and Buffalo Trail Diner and BBQ is on the left next to a liquor store.

Buffalo Trail Diner and BBQ
1760 Buffalo Trail
Morristown, TN 37814
(423) 307-8725

Good place to eat. Closed Sundays.

Thanks. I'll keep it mind. Not really in the time window I want, but nonetheless.

Really about ready to go back to not having any desire whatsoever of trying to find decent BBQ in a restaurant.

Today's lunch at a place in Sandy Springs (ATL) just reminded me that 90% of the food cooked and served in a restaurant is 100% worse than what I can make at home.

This is in Williamsport, pa http://www.acmebarbecue.com I have yet to eat there, but have heard good things about it. It just opened this year, its been a few years since I've been out of school up there so did not get to get there. Or around the Sunbury area is http://www.bbhbbq.com/. Hillbilly BBQ is very good and looks like that maybe one on the way, it's about an hour above Harrisburg, PA. Hard to find very good BBQ in the area.

Enjoy your trip.[/url]

Thanks. I think we roll right through Sunbury, Harrisburg and Shamokin Dam.

Williamsport is kinda out of the way.

We should be hitting that area about 7 pm.

I forgot about Skeeters, and from the one time I did eat there would like to forget about it. I would say stay away from it, not worth the money. They use apple wood and had no smoke favor.
