|
|
My father-in-law's' golf buddy mentioned that he as thinking about selling his cooker. My father-in-law mentioned to him that I was looking to buy a mobile cooker and subsequently he sent me pics.
From what I can tell its a 3 yr old Lang 84 with a warmer box. It appears to be in good mechanical shape (as well as I can tell from the photos) but it has a lot of surface rust, especially around the firebox.
Some questions:
What are some questions I should ask of the owner prior to offering a bid?
What is the going rate for this cooker? (I assume these depreciate like a car.)
If I do get it, what is the best way to remove the rust and repaint?
Added a pic

The rust is superficial, a little elbow grease and some fresh paint and she is good to go on that end. And amen, SO EZZY, amen!!!
If you do mention price first, LOW BALL, and I mean LOW BALL big time. If he really wants to deal, then you come up in very small increments. As far as price, I think it would probably be worth $2500, but you know your budget, we don't. _________________ Propane is for frying, not Que!

What they said. If you can't get it for around $2500, I know someone close who can make you one for around that. _________________ D. Tillery

Offer a grand and I bet you'll have it hooked up to your truck at 1500-1800.unless he uses it often. Then it may go higher. _________________ Good BBQ is all smoke and beers!
