OK so I broke down and sent the guy an email Very Happy

Its about 4 hours from where I am, but only an hour from my folks place, which is where we are working on my trailer unit rignt now. So I can have pops pick it up and tow it down to the ranch, and SWMBO will be none the wiser..... until it shows up here when its complete Shocked Wink

I know these containers. I used to buy military surplus lots from DRMO auctions with my uncle in E TX and these types of containers housed everything from transmissions to jet engines. They have a lot of flanges and mounts welded inside them to hold whatever they were designed to carry. The flange on the outside would have a slot for a rubber O-ring with a valve to suck out the air and fill with nitrogen to prevent rust inside. It is probably painted on the inside with good old USA grade OD green lead paint. That being said, it would probably make a great smoker for $50. Best USA quality fabrication our tax dollars could buy.
