My days seem to be running together but I finally had some time to get caught up on the cooker. I built a new door, a coal basket complete with slides. Added a 1.5'' drain nipple. Tomorrow I will cut out the holes for the therms and run a test fire.
Here is the new door.

The intakes open.

The charcoal basket pulled out. I built a multi purpose tool to grab the basket and act as an ash puller.

The multi purpose tool.

The basket in the firebox, you can see the lugs that the handle grabs.

The 1.5'' nipple ready for a ball valve.

The doors marked for the therms.

Thank You Ernie, Very Happy There really is not a lot left I am going to do to her besides the thermometer collars. I will install those today and test fire her. Then I will let the owner know what changes might need to be done if any.

Thank You Denny, Very Happy Lo jack armed and ready. Laughing I like the slide rack I came up with on the basket. This idea I will use probably on mine. Smile

Thank You Tombigbeeriverdawg. Very Happy

Thank You joshsheff1, Very Happy I am pretty much through for now. I will know by end of day what she does. Smile

Finney, They are just 1/2'' couplings that I weld in for the thermometers to thread into.

Today I installed the thermometer collars and added some safety loops for the firebox door and warming door.
I also changed out the handle on the warming box. They will pick it up and test cook on it and if they want some
more changes to grate height or deflectors they will let me know.
I used my thermometers for templates.

One for the warming box.

The safety loops for the fire box, and warming chamber.

The grates are quite a ways lower than normal in this cooker, I was using my ET-73 and a 5'' stem Ash-Croft
to seek the differences.
Once she settled in and I got used to the intakes I had 11° difference in the right door and grate and 55°
in the left door and grate. This difference I attribute to the way the heat/smoke enters the chamber and no tuning plates.

Looks good, I would also say the off temps from door to door is due to the plates. Mine used to do the same thing and about the same amount difference from one door to the next. All your mods look great, nice work, the customer will be very pleased.

Thank You Big Ron, Very Happy I think tuning plates and raising the grates would help tremendously on this cooker. Time will tell they might come back and want this done.
