I lived in NC, jacksonville for over a year while in the Marine Corp. and never knew about the bbq there!! yes, I know, I'm kicking myself right now!! I thought the golden corral was the NC thing. Now I know better and wished I had visited some of the places mentioned here Confused

Golden Corral Question
Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
Sorry, I just couldn't resist, if it is anything like Golden Corral has here (Springfield, MO), it will be fresh out of the freezer, into the hotel pan for heating, throw some sauce on it and then to the serving line.
I know it is all ya can eat, but all I could eat, was one bite. Crying or Very sad YUCK!!
Much better food at home, just look at all of these recipes on this site. Some good or great and some not so good. And some are just, "I wasted that meat, didn't I?"

Hey Gunny - Semper Fi!!

yeah, i know, Golden Corral, some really awful stuff but I was young and my taste buds didn't care if it was back alley slop or the beef Brisket (dubbed shoe leather) from the MREs!

and now that I"m getting into smoking, I really could've used some kind of measurement for how real bbq should be.
