Ok, that's another way too pretty to be a UDS! Laughing
Fantastic job on your fourth build, Skidder! I bet you could build your fifth in your sleep! Very Happy

So...what is that thingie sticking out at the bottom-right in the picture? It's too low for a temp probe, but it's the right place for an extra intake. So what you got going on there? Remote controlled valve?

Cheers!

day_trippr, it looks to me like a "chicken rope" for the cap, so it can't fall off and get lost

Looks great, Skidder. I love seeing pics of other people builds. It gives me ideas. I started working on my second last year. I'm going to pull it out and finish it this spring. Where did you get the wheels?

Daddy.

Who Daddy wheels from hardware store. Single post. Brackets for wheels are 3" aluminum bent in a vise.

Getting ready for my first one...
any chance of seeing more pictures of yours?

Also Do you think that the pipe with valve is needed or is a nipple or another style of vent good enough?
Is that pipes length and certain measurement.

I came up with a similar idea for casters but am thinking now about making it more portable.

Anyway thanks for the post and inspiration

frankncali I think you definetly should have at least one valve to control incoming air. You don't need the pipe but you should use a nipple and ball valve, some sort of slide or even just a flat magnet will work fine. Now get to work on yours and lets see it.

I took the aluminum and laid it flat then drew lines where the bends were to be. Put them in the vice where the line is and bent away. They only look exactly the same but there not. If you use a three point arrangement just like when you use three bolts for the cooking grates nothing will ever have a wobble to it. It's when you go to four points and everything isn't exact that is when you'll have issues. Trust me I'm no metal worker. Also look close and you'll see the bottom bend in the brackets aren't perpendicular with the ground but it doesn't matter because everything will pivot off the caster. Look at it this way if you don't tell anyone the'll never know.
