Today I booked two events and BOTH clients found me through the web.

The first is a wedding for 110 where the couple live in FLORIDA but will be getting married in my area in August.

The second is a group for 150-200 (not sure yet) from Seattle. I will have to cater the event in Seattle (60 miles one way) that also found me on the web.

I have never catered an event of this type before....they are all blind. Shocked Shocked

Although I am a far cry from having EVERY weekend booked for 2010, it is looking much brighter than 2009....THANK GOODNESS!!!

Okay, I gotta do it, this may be in bad taste or just politically incorrect but shouldn't it have been: ....they are all blind Cool Cool

That wasnt what i was thinking of, but it works.

You know it will be interesting to actually here how that one works out for you. They say that ppl eat with their eyes, ie-presentation wins out most of the time. So it would be interesting to hear about how this group likes your food. It may also give a chance for a literal blind feedback about everything you do. I would ask for tons of feedback afterwords.

I also meant to add best of luck with both gigs too Marv. Very Happy I'm sure they will come off with no problems.

More than likely they will be your toughest critic's..
It is really pathetic that you make fun of physically challenged people so easily..is their money funny too?

Extremely poor taste and unethical way to conduct your business on a public forum geronimo.

Congrats on getting those gigs, and I'm glad your season is warming up!

Most "Sight Challenged" folks have a pretty good sense of humor.

It's not as if anyone here is putting them down for their disability....................

I have a gig the end of August for a self-professed "Upscale Gay and Lesbian RV Community".

Hot meat anyone? Razz

Black, white, yellow or green, eight to eighty, blind, crippled or crazy.

Makes no difference to me, as long as the check is good! Wink

So you're putting blind people and gay people in the same disabled boat?

Only if the gays are doing the driving and navigating! Very Happy

If the boat is disabled, I'd call the Coast Guard.

BTW, the toughest part of leaving the Coast Guard (or Navy)?

You have to leave your best friends behind!

No one is making fun of anyone. After all, disabled people have to eat too Shocked

One year I catered an event for a group of VA disabled folks and each and every one had a different disability...it all works.

I'll take the jobs from anyone/anywhere and feed everyone "The best barbecue they've ever had"....as long as their check is good. Shocked
