Hey, Bob!!! I saw the pics of you at Jenks - I really want to do a comp! The ribs last Friday were absolutely the best that I have done yet I had a couple come in on Saturday who tried the ribs on Friday, and they said that they have been to a number of comps (including the local RibFest) and said that they were the best ribs that they have ever had - bar none! Granted, I am used to having people say "the best", "outta this world", etc. Not patting myself on the back here, as we ALL hear that, because there are so many people who haven't had real Q, but to hear this from folks who actually go to comps, well, this one made me feel REALLY good!!! _________________ "The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits" - Albert Einstein |

I don't think people are pumping you up really...they were good, just not perfect that day...comp was cool ! that pic of me shows what you look like after turning in 4 boxes that you weren't too happy with ! still, coming in midpack w/ those boxes is encouraging ! when you get to do it - you'll love it ! my lack of experience was a downer when turnin times approached, box appearances were iffy and the brisket and ribs weren't wanting to hit target....let alone get to rest..so I learned from all of it and really left feeling good about it afterall..but I really wish I had some of your fishspread tonight....! _________________ Livin' at the Edge of Adhesion, till Smokin' Time.. then it's OSoSlow: Chillin' Time!

Sometimes I use the bowl in the vertical when I don't want to use all of the smoker. When I am using the whole smoker, it is pecan logs.... and plenty of them! _________________ https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeloberry |

Yeah, it's pretty popular
Glad to hear you had a good time at the comp!
Your sister is throwing a Halloween party, so I'm gonna try my hand at making ABT's for the first time. Should be interesting... She wanted me to make something "gross", but I was spent from a busy weekend at the restaurant, so I figure telling folks that they are "atomic buffalo turds" is gross enough... _________________ "The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits" - Albert Einstein |

Alien,
Thanks for the clarity; I think it would be a great idea to have a sticky FAQ with info such as this.

Why not make a platter of Pig Peckers to go along with the ABT's ??? _________________ It's always darkest before dawn.
