I cook so that I may eat.

If I had to pick between the two I'd have to pick eating.

Cooking by a nose. Enjoy the prep, cooking, a few adult beverages with friends, and the compliments. But then again is there anything better than eating good Q?

Both but, if had had to chose one I'd probably chose cooking. I love to cook for friends and family.

I favor cooking for the challenge and the use of FIRE! I am a blacksmith and a potter so just about anything to do with flame to me is fun. I also enjoy the eating!

I don't know how to say this without is sounding sappy.

There is a GREAT pleasure that one gets from the amazement and satisfaction of others.

If by "cooking" you mean sitting on the deck in an easy chair watching the blue smoke rise while enjoying an adult beverage with a fine cigar...then cooking. Very Happy I like both!

I noticed on one of the episodes of "Pitmasters" that Myron {the man you love to hate} started his charcoal by dousing it with llighter fluid. When queried about it Myron in his own unique style said..."Hell, I only cook it, I don't have to EAT it!" {or something to that nature}. I think that we all like to cook and eat...having gotten into cooking to prove that we can do it better than anyone else. If we didn't like to eat it, we would not be any good at cooking it...what would be the point?

I rather cook it than eat it. I like about 2 ribs, a bite of pork, a bite of brisket and a bite of chicken then I'm done. BBQ gives me the absolute WORST acid reflux than anything else.

While I don't get to do it as often as i like, I enjoy the cooking. If I just enjoyed the eating, I would find a good Q joint and eat out more often.

Aw, man...That has to be one of the saddest things I've ever read on the 'Ring Crying or Very sad

Sorry to see something like that, loomis, but good for you for soldiering on for the other folks in your life and not abandoning the whole Q'ing thing.

Don't mean to pry, but have you ever had a proper diagnosis of the root cause of your 'burn? Sometimes it's caused by something they can actually fix (one of my specialists helped develop a treatment that uses an inert injectable substance to fix leaky esophageal valves)...

Cheers
