Friday night I skinned and crowned an 7.5lb picnic and then rubbed it down with a local companies rub.
Tex-Joy Mesquite shake. I put it on the cooker at 4:30 A.M. and then at around 8:00 A.M. Mrs. K.A.M. took
over the reigns and I went to work on the cooker build. I also have been wanting to try
Canadian Bacon's cabbage and pepper recipe and I must say it is outstanding. Thank You C.B.
I used shredded cabbage and next time I will use whole sliced cabbage. It cooked down a bit much
but the flavor was outstanding.
The picnic on the WSM in the A.M. Slathered in mustard and second coat of rub. Using Apple wood
from my Good Friend Skidder
Mrs.K.A.M. made up some ABT's and bacon wrapped corn.
Finished pic of the ABT's and corn.
The picnic after resting. Nice clean bone.
This picnic nearly pulled itself.
Plated up, Hoagie bun sandwich, cole slaw and roxie's sauce. Canadian Bacon's cabbage, ABT's, and
bacon wrapped corn.
Here is another plate up pic with my beverage of choice, it felt like spring yesterday so Mr.K.A.M. treated me
to a Modelo.

Holy crap k.a.m.! That looks like a plate from Heaven!
Isn't apple wood good? Have you ever tried cherry?
And I just recently tried Roxy's sauce , VERY good stuff!
I haven't had bacon wrapped corn for a while, gonna have to do some soon.

Yikes! That grub looks awesome, Kevin! I've got a butt sitting at 170°F internal right now and between that and your pictures my stomach is growling up a storm! "Nicely done, my man!"

Nicely done once again. I think you need to start making your own bacon for as much as you go through it would prolly be way cheaper. Now I'm hungry again and I just ate. _________________

Outstanding job by the K.A.M. family. Is there by chance a thread to the cabbage and pepper recipe? _________________ My memory isn't good enough to lie.

See what you guys did K.A.M.s? After seeing this post I had to go get some fixings for ABT's and throw them on with the chuck roast.
