| I was wondering if anyone has ever seen an extension sleeve for a weber charcoal grill. Essentially I have a 22.5 inch grill but I would like to be able to have more than one grate, so in my infinite wisdom I thought a extension would do the trick, I haven't been able to find one, am I too stupid to google or is there no such thing? |

Cut a piece out of a 55 gal drum to the height desired. Why not throw a couple grates in there? Poke some holes for a rotor-thingy and ya got it made.
Edit Can't spell....... _________________ Gunny 3073/4044/8411

I just passed on similar advice to another 'Ringer that was wondering if he could turn his full size Weber kettle into the "Big Boy" version of this: http://www.thesmokering.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36566
Using the same idea - and the right drum - one can create pretty much anything from a short add-on to hold a cooking grate to a bigger collar to house a rotisserie to the moral equivalent of a 22" WSM. It pretty much comes down to spec'ing the drum so the cuts fit the bottom and top bowls of the kettle grill...

Or you could do a big boy instead of mini, like my other one here http://thesmokering.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32207&highlight=
You could keep the bottom of the kettle on the bottom, but unless you're 7 feet tall, I'd recommend cutting the 55 gal drum down to 2/3 only. _________________ Since Christ DIED for us, we should LIVE for Him!

Sorry, no side by side pics yet. But the one with shelves uses a 22.5" Weber and the one without uses a 14.5" Weber.
