Thanks to SoEZZY for putting together the throwdown rules.

These rules will be standard for the majority of Throwdown competitions they will be posted at the top of the section, and repeated in the lead post of any throwdown thread.

Throwdown topic: A clear simple description

Deadline for entries: A date at least one (1) week ahead

Entries should include:

1) Ingredients list (and pic)
2) Description of standard preparation (and pics) with the outline of steps and prep time for each step.
3) Pic of "plate up" and total PREP time.
4) A picture of the cook's game face. Throw fear into the heart of your opponents, or any small children who might be near the computer.

Only one entry per cook is allowed in each throwdown. Participation is limited to a maximum of 25 cooks.

Smack Talk: Friendly, good-natured teasing, razzing, bragging, etc, are all fine - but no mean-spirited jabs please, (mean spirited jabs may lead to a DQ if committed by a competitor or a temporary ban if by a non-competitor).

If folks don't want to engage in smack talk. They can state that in their first post on each throwdown thread - let's honor that.

Judging will be by poll votes.

All entries that are within the stated deadline will be judged by any members of the forum.

Entries that have been DQ'd for mean spirited jabs will not be put into the polls.

Any member of the forum may vote in the polls, if you vote in one poll on a throwdown please vote in all of them, it's only fair to those who took the time to compete.

The polls should be open for at least 2 days.

Entries should be judged on:

1) The Basic Critiria listed above:
2) Creativity
3) Appearance of final plate up.

If you would prefer to submit a video, rather than still photos of your entry, please contact me. We will put your video on The Smoke Ring YouTube channel.

I can only see one downside . . . not being able to taste all the entries
