Joshsheff1 It is coming along. I'm excited to cook on it. I'm cooking for a wedding in a few weeks on this cooker.

kblankenberger_22 Thanks. We're putting a lot of thought into it. I'm going to have it for awhile! Smile

patruns Thanks for stopping by.

slacker D is amazing no doubt. He is not only an awesome craftsmen but an amazing artist!!

k.a.m Hopefully the updates will be fast and furious. I've got a wedding coming up that I'm doing 36 slabs of slabs baby backs for! Shocked I've done big cooks on butts, this will be my first big cook on ribs .. Oh and the guys is a chef! (but family LOL ). I did a sample run of 6 slabs on memorial day for him and he and his bride loved them!

joshsheff, Thanks I know I'm slow but Sarge is coming right along.

kblankenberger_22, Thanks, I just can't stop tinkering, that's most of the fun.

patruns, Thanks, It won't be long until the first cook.

chuckied, Thanks.

slacker, Thanks. Stop by the shop if you are ever in the hood.

k.a.m. Thanks. You have been setting the bar pretty high with your builds. It's tough to keep up.

Sweet Sgt Stel. Man I really like that build. It should be a nice one.

I'm thinking you need a 50 cal mounted on top of it. If you done have a real one I have seen them fashioned from metal that look pretty realistic. lol

D is really REALLY moving now.

These eagles came out AWESOME ... OUT-FRIGGIN STANDING!!!

Pineapple grenades for the door knobs were going in the middle but I think that will ruin the artwork. We're going to try to put them at the bottom of the door if possible.

Firebox is built like a tank!!!

Shelf on the front and the prep table on the back. The light stands are in and ready to be wired.

Sorry this one if out of focus. This is the back side.

Table storage under the deck!!!

Looks Awesome!

How about putting something in the Eagles' claws for a handle, instead of adding something more to the doors?

Can you explain the FB? Why is there a door on the top and on the side? What is the purpose of the one on the top?

purplewg Thanks. I'm trying to find someone to paint the Eagles for me now. At first they will be silver on a black pit but I know some artists that could handle this easy. Maybe I'll cook for painting? hmmmm Laughing

chuckied Man, I couldn't agree more MrCustomeSteel is flat out knockin this one out of the park!!!

VMAN our thoughts exactly. We are going to locate the door handles down below their talons. I didn't want to put something in the middle of those bad a$$ birds!

dfess1 Well ya see sometimes I don't want to bend over to take a look at the fire or to "toss" a log in. I like to lay it in from the top and save my back. LOL (I'm 48 yrs old).

Uncle John You, me and MrCustomSteel. We are ready to cook on this thing. Hopefully next week!!! WOOT WOOT Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Stel, Thanks. When you walked over and said "holy $h!t", I figured I was on the right track.

purplewg, If Stel goes to another gun show before I finish there might be a 50 cal on it.

chuckied, Thanks. The art is really what makes building smokers fun.

VMAN, I was thinking the same thing. I tried some 50 cal rounds in the claws but I could not make it work.

dfess1, I just like to be able to open the top too. It really helps getting the fire started with it open.

Uncle John, Thanks. I was rocking along but now my work schedule sucks for the next few days.

mrcustomsteel and Sgt. Stel
Sorry to be so late on your build.
The doors are as cool as can be.
You have spent a lot of time thinking this pit out
Keep the pictures coming and the great work on the pit

That is one bad-a$$ cooker, can't wait to see it in action.

mrcustomsteel, that is a work of art. Love it.

I spent the day in D's shop. The day Flew by. I hope I was a help. I did some electrical work on the lights and power outlets, and painted. That's right boys and girls painted ... I should be bringing it home on Friday. I'll post more pics then but wanted to share one with you. Yet again today I was amazed at D's talent. I wasn't really crazy about the damper control "scrolly things" (as I called them) so D took it up a notch.

That is amazing. Totally cool!!!!

It was great having Stel at the shop today. I am really happy when guys want to come get some hands on their own rig. We are rolling this baby out on Friday afternoon, Good Lord Willing and the creek don't rise.

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. And thanks Stel for giving me the artistic freedom that makes pitbuilding fun.
