had people over for the Daytona 500 the past two years. pasta two years ago and pulled pork and sides last year.
As the race was early this year and should have been over well before dinner, we just decided to do a bunch of finger foods this year.
Made pigs-in-a-blanket and stuffed breads during the week.
Made mozzarella sticks on Saturday while my wife made Mardi Gras King cupcakes (recipe from Kingarthurflour.com) and regular yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting. here's a portion of them while making them.
Never found yellow sugar or purple sugar, so my wife made her own using food coloring.
Really screwed up my left shoulder tossing firewood on Friday. Got up early and put a heating pad on my shoulder, so I could make cinnamon rolls for starters.
Finger food this year: mozzarella sticks, pigs-in-a-blanket, filled breads, and cupcakes.
Let the cats out later, and B.J. joined us.
As people noticed, he does close his eyes for other pictures after the first picture is taken.
He was scratching the back of the sofa where Birthday Boy was sitting, as he usually sleeps there at night. He jumped up there after everyone left and we put the room back together.
