I'm loving your cooker build, killswitch505! Very cool, chock full of features in a compact footprint. Nice!
A couple of questions: how do your stack closures work? Is there a rotating damper below those caps?
And do you have a grate or some kind of basket for your firebox? Or are you thinking you'll just build your fire right on top of the firebrick?
Cheers! _________________ Save the planet: it's the only one with beer!

day_trippr It does have a rotating damper I made the caps so it would completely chock off the exhaust and if I leave it outside the weather would not be a problem I added the chain just in case the spring fails from heat on a long cook I tend to over think stuff lol other then paint all I have left is the fire box basket _________________ Club Disco

That is a KILLER brick job on the FB!
As for the base of the pit, if you still want to re-work it, I would angle out the legs a bit since the vertical portion is going to make it somewhat top heavy and upset your center of gravity.
Other than that, it looks to me like you have a great creation and need to Christen it with a warm bottle of beer and some lard to season it with!
As for a name, it comes with time and how you cook on her...
DO let us see the first burn!

just finished the fire box tonight sandblast tomorrow (should have been today but the guy canceled at the last minute after I loaded it on the trailer and was heading his way ) I will rent a sandblaster and do it myself if I have to so I can paint it this weekend and season it Monday. _________________ Club Disco

Very nice all the way around. The smokestacks, doors, etc all set your build far and away from the crowd. The firebox is a true work of art, love the FB inlets. I have no name suggestion but I have come up with a phrase recently that applies to works such as this ..." Anyone can build a BBQ pit but, not everyone can build this....." _________________ Backyarder

Great job killswitch
I've been watching your build for a while now. I sure like the use of firebrick and the way it looks. That should defiantly hold some heat. Probably help with keeping the paint on the firebox too. Can't wait to see it painted and in action. _________________ Gunny 3073/4044/8411
