Started a build let me know what you think started with 24’’ casing 1/8’’ plate and a ˝’’ plate for the fire box and the dang date is messed up on the camera

Close up of how I made the door latches

I figure I could get a couple briskets in the horizontal and some butts, summer sausage or maybe cold smoke in the vertical

I really want to do some thing about the casters they look a little small but im going to brick the thing in someday

And I used child labor to build most of it so that’s kept the cost way down

To bad the kid sleeps on the job

Looks like a great setup to me. You shouldn't ahve any issues with the doors flexing on the vertical portion! Them critters are stout! Shocked

Looks like the kiddo had a good time and wore himself out!

Thought it was time for an update been workin a lot lately but I just finished the tuning plates made it so I could go traditional or reverse flow

Also I built the door for the fire box I just ordered some fire brick to line the box the bad thing about living in BFE is having to order every damn thing I guess ppl don’t build fireplaces in New Mexico

So now I can kinda see what the thing is going to look like I decided that im not at all happy with the stand that I made for it (got impatient and wanted to get it done) so im going to re work it

Great job so far killswitch, looking forward to the paint job and first cook!

Don't forget the Di-lithium crystals in that Warp drive, or ya will never get light speed out of the space ship. Cool

Nice Job there! I don't see much wrong with the stand, I imagine your gonna put some expandable metal to make a basket on the leg supports, correct? I think it looks great, as a matter of fact, would you mind posting up some pics of how you welded up the angle iron legs to the cook chamber. I am getting ready to start a rehab project and I would like to see how to weld the angle iron to the rounded portion of the cook chamber. Thanks.

Few Hersey bars and some hot chocolate and he'll be ready to work. LMAO

Nice build Killswitch, i like the idea of using plate over plate to make the seal area on the door, cleaner look. Im gonna have to write that one down for my next build.
