Hey all. Moe here in AZ. I'm not new to Q'ing, but I'm not a pro...yet. Hoping to get some advice, tips & tricks. Maybe I'll see some of y'all at a competition sometime soon.
I tell ya, it's hot enough out here, you could almost smoke a rack of ribs without starting a fire. |

Hey Alien. I'm from & live in Phoenix. We're in the middle of a record temp heat wave this week, expecting highs of over 110 degrees. I gotta admit, it's weird when you step away from the BBQ pit in the backyard and it doesn't get any cooler.
Y'know, after 31 years here, I have never visited a local BBQ joint here. Guess I just figured I could do better myself. But if you're looking for some good Q here in the Valley, I hear that Honey Bears and Thee Pitts Again are the places to go.
Hope you enjoy your stay! _________________ There's a place for all God's creatures...

I will be visiting Phoenix next week from the 11th to the 15th for a career cluster conference at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. We will be staying at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort and hope to eat some quality Q. Can you recommend any places? _________________ https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeloberry |

If you're really motivated you could join the crawl on the 10th
Otherwise if you want and can you check the review(s) that'll be posted later.
Also if you poke around numerous other places are mentioned throughout the forum
I’d give you my personal recommendation but I’m from Tucson (Mr. K’s!)
You’re articles on modding smoker’s rock and I’d love to treat you to lunch and pick your brain but it’d have to be on the 12th as I’m leaving for MN on the 13th.

Moe, welcome aboard. I just joined up a week or two back. Lot of friendly folks with some savey advice here. And a ton of reading about things I've wondered about...but had no one to ask.
By the way, your statement? I tell ya, it's hot enough out here, you could almost smoke a rack of ribs without starting a fire.
I've always understood that the word Arizona was Apache for '$#@& it's hot!!!'.
Thanks,

Thanks everyone for the welcome.
Sterling, wow! Sounds like Phoenix temps. I remember quite a few days of heat like that in the Springs, but that's a lot farther South. Seems like the drought has us all by the cojones.
Murphy, I think you're dead-on with that one, man.
"Yeah, but it's a DRY heat."
"Sure...so is the inside of my oven." _________________ There's a place for all God's creatures...
