| hey smokin okie! Did you have a good time this past weekend at the houston rodeo cookoff? I saw the tent you were at, very classy compared to most of the others. I had passes to five other tents, not a chair in a single one. I was there Friday, it seemed like just a big party! Only two of the tents I was in were actually serving food, the others was alcohol only. |

Yup, made it there and somehow survived. Given there was 3 straight nights of partying, and catering for the tent...oh, and a contest.
I'll write up a report with some photos. We (and the other KCBS teams I found there) didn't do well, but I heard some interesting things from the judges about how the scoring went.
There were:
119 briskets
120 chicken
166 rib entries.
Only the top 10 in each made "the finals" and unfortunately we had four entries, highest was both chicken in the 60's and one rib in the 60's. Waiting for my copy of the score sheet. |
