I searched for a thread like this and did not find one.
I'm from Macon and live near Gordon.
Finchers is our local spot and its mediocre to me.
JL's and Sonnys are just down the road Rolling Eyes
I prefer to make my own BBQ. I'm still experimenting and will be doing some more this weekend! Laughing

Go to this link http://www.thesmokering.com/forum/search.php input "georgia and restaurant" in the top box and you'll get 20 + threads with them in it.

Pick the ones you like or read them all.

Did you miss this part -"I searched for a thread like this and did not find one."
I'm looking for a thread with just Ga. folks to chime in and shoot the bull.
I did what you suggested prior to your suggestion and found pages worth of Ga. references but not Ga. specific to bs in.

Its "so easy" to understand.

Its ok, I just love the search police as to why I put it in my original post. No problem, I've been around the block on this internet thing.
Thank you sweetie.

The search police is also the moderator of the site, so you win the next 24 hours that your log in wont work!

It wasn't the question, it was the attitude toward someone who was trying to help.

I always suggest establishing some rapport before rocking the boat so hard, especially if the moderator is the one paddling. Wink

OK I'll bite as you are new here.

1) The thread title was "Georgia folks chime in"!
2) He says he has searched the site.
3) He gave his city / area.
4) It detailed the restaurant that is near him that is mediocre to him.
5) It gave another couple of restaurants.
6) He states he prefers his own BBQ and will continue experimenting.

As the moderator I attempted to point him towards threads that include restaurants in and around Georgia.

His response was not, "thanks but that's not what I'm looking for" or no I meant to say I want a thread where only those lucky enough to live in Georgia have a right to respond, after all I am looking for exclusivity here... I know that's reading more into his second post than is there, but please allow me some poetic license.

So I stated I was sorry that I tried to help and failed, and wished him well.

Then he decides to call me the search police and sweetie, as he's been around the block on this internet thing, and after he throws a couple of thoughts my way, that I did not like and will not tolerate, I pulled the plug for 24 hours, instead of just banning him.

Well he must not have managed to piss off someone trying to help him quite so quickly on the rest of the web, but I doubt that is his character.

Now lets look what might have happened in other circumstances.

If he'd come into this section and posted a thread like.

"Georgia folks come on in, sit down and shoot the breeze".

I might have scanned the content, and passed by.

It's my self imposed job to try and help new members, (hence an explanation for you instead of leaving well alone), and to moderate the whole site for spam, abuses, and other content that runs contra to the policy of this forums owner.

End of story, end of discussion.

always been partial to Fincher's myself, but my family in the area tells me that it went downhill since mr. fincher died. I always liked the brunswick stew. once you start making your own, most restaurant bbq aint going to cut it.

Though you did do a real nice job of pissing off one of the nicer folks on here...too bad you didnt start in the catering section...it would have been a lot more fun to watch.

Shocked Geez, newbies get over yourselves. The man was simply trying to help. With that kind of attitude I'm sure your "tips and techniques" will be welcome elsewhere! I personally am glad to occasionally get pointed to a thread that I may not have known about since there are a trillion on here. If it is not relevant I will simply clarify what I was meaning. See ya! Rolling Eyes

SoEzzy was condescending on his first reply, especially when the OP had already stated what he had done in his search. SoEzzy ASSumed that the OP was a newbie to msg boards is actually insulting in nature.
SoEzzy
If YOU hadn't had a "Lord High Sheriff" attitude in your first post, you most likely wouldn't received the replies you got.
I hope you don't judge events the same way you moderate.
Since I've been doing this since I was a small child and I need no help in smoking mouthwatering meats, I think I'll find my info elsewhere for my friend and keep my tips and techniques to myself and friends.

Have a great day and a Happy New Year!

Other than that, I'll
