here in hotlanta, its not so hot! now i've got to start out by saying that i curse the hot humid summers here every year especially the hummidity.i didn't know it could be any different untill we spent a year in n. califonia without the h-word it was soooooo nice! but anyway right now its below freezing with a high expected of 34 that just ridculous, now my fav. temps are between 40 -70 but this is well ,just to d*mn cold! i dont know how all you guys up north deal with this! oh well, my work is alittle slow, so out in the cold i go, to run my smoker to have what we all crave some fresh "Q" to try out my 2 new sauces,a bourbon and hawiian. we'll see how much longer i have to cook on account of this cold arse weather[no blankey to keep her warm] porky 24

I sent an E-mail to my best friend in Smyrna (just down the road from ya') razzing him about his "cold" weather. Told him our high was 0* (zero) and we still have 2 ft of snow from the holiday storm. No reply yet. Wink
Since I've been transplanted from the GA/FL area 6 years ago, I've learned to layer clothes, use thermal skivvies, hat, gloves, boots and all the other goodies. BUT, when the high is 0* or below, We hunker down! The only interaction with the outside is via the windows. Very Happy
At least that's how I do it.

It's a balmy 19* here today only 2 - 3" of uncleared snow on the ground and sidewalks, the roads are clear for the most part.

The 10 day forecast has no snow or rain, so it's looking good for weather.

It's so dry out here even when it snows, I have shoveled snow many a time with sandal's on down to about 12*, below that I will put socks and shoes or even boots when it gets too much below that.

Otherwise you layer up, and cope.

I was watching something about Alaska the other day and the guy was running around in about as much as I put on at 7* and he was saying it was -35*, them guys in the really cold places must have different metabolisms than the hotter humans do! Wink

I guess one just gets used to it. . . . Having a layer of "winter wool" doesn't hurt either! Shocked Wink Laughing I love Q'ing in the snow (but, then again, I've been accused of being an over-zealous Q-fiend!)

Last couple nights it has been down to 0F and the car has been rather hard to start in the morning..

If it dont get warmer soon I will be claiming environmental refugee status to the state of Florida as this winter stuff is killing me. Wink

Then you get those mentally unstable folks that like to go out on a snow machine or ice fish in this weather. Not for me I say. Rather be sweating than freezing my kahonies off any day.

Get the winter woolies outta storage. Reckon they'll break out the smudge pots and be spraying water on the orange trees tonite on the other side of the bay. Wink

Low 30's here in MA. Sounds like we're having a heat wave compared to some. I am less hardy than most and packed away the smoker when the white stuff started flying.
