So I got some info on the interior coating of the barrels. No problem there! Now my problem is the stove pipe. Its the pipe running between the bottom "fire" barrel and the top cooking barrel. Each one being maybe 6" long? Is the standard black galvanized stove pipe ok? Or do I need stainless?
Thanks,

I just used the plain ole black 6" stove pipe. PITA to put on. I ended up getting the c-clip keeper to hold the pipe together. It kept coming apart, I guess due to the length of it. Clip solved the problem. Well worth the $4 for 4 feet of it. _________________ Gunny 3073/4044/8411

With an attitude like that, and failure to read my above post, I doubt very seriously you will get any help. The "black stove pipe", I have never stripped the paint off to see. _________________ Gunny 3073/4044/8411

Sorry jarhead, didnt mean to come off as a d!ck. I should have explained better. I didnt know if anyone would give their 2 cents being its kind of a health issue if i use galvanized. No worries now as i finished the project today and it turned out great. Again, I apologize for the confusion. _________________ Dustin

| dustinjr, I would love to see pics of your build. I used the black stove pipe on mine as well and it works just great. You will love the way the DBS works for cooking and the amount that you can cook on it. |
