| I have a friend that is allergic to all kinds of peppers. The only thing he can tolerate is Black Pepper. I don't know if any such rub exisits without peppers. I've been searching with little to no success. So, I have decided to return to the one place I should have started with in order to get some answers. Thanks for being here to ask. ~Rookie Forever |

You can always make up a rub.
Here's mine:
Brown sugar, granulated garlic, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika.
Just omit the cayenne. _________________ "The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits" - Albert Einstein |

A rub is nothing more than mixed seasonings.
Make your own...it's dreadfully easy and the possibilities are endless. _________________ Somewhere in Kenya...a village is missing their idiot. |

One of the simplest rubs you can use is equal parts salt, pepper and garlic powder.
You could bump that up with any combination of spices or herbs. _________________ Chargriller Akorn

He is allergic to ALL peppers? Paprika comes from pappers too. That may be something to omit as well.
Like Roxy said, start with the S,P,and G combo and work your way up from there. |
