Got a call this morning offering a me a 1/2 cord White Oak and 1/2 cord of Mulberry for the low price or free. All I had to do was help split it. Broke out the spliter and now have wood that I can use to smoke.
GOt to love free. |

| I have never used Mulberry for smoking but heard it is a lot like apple in flavoring and as apple is one of my top favorites I am pretty excited about getting this much of it. |

| I also have never used Mulberry. What type of meat do you find it works best on? |

This last weekend I smoked a Butt, Spareribs, a TriTip, and some beef short ribs. Started the coal base with the white oak and then put on the mulberry at with the meat and from then on. It tasted supper great in the Pork, but just a bit light for my taste on the beef.
Personally I thought the mulberry was just a bit stronger than apple, but I really really liked it on the pork. Will stick with the oak/pecan mix for beef when possible. |
